3602738 - Error in Cost Assignment Portlet After Creating Hire Date Correction - Employee Central

When a Hire Date Correction is created for an user, the Cost Assignment portlet shows an error after the successful run of the HDC. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Navigate to the employee's profile and verify there is data stored in the Cost Assignment portlet.
2. Go to Manage Data.
3. Select Create New -> Hire Date Correction.
4. Select the user and input the new hire date.
5. Save the changes. The operation should be successful.
6. Return to the employee's profile and check the Cost Assignment portlet: error "???PSM_COST_OBJECT_VALIDATION_ERROR???" is displayed.

This is a system limitation of the Hire Date Correction tool. The system will throw an error because the cost assignment object cannot exist prior to the job information hire date. The hire date correction currently does not support Cost Assignment.

Workaround:

• Before creating the Hire Date Correction:
  1. Go to Cost Assignment Portlet and change the effective date to the new hire date that is going to be created or after the desired hire date;
  2. Then go to Manage Data and create the Hire Date Correct using a a date on or before the date of the existing Cost Assignment record;

1. 1. Delete the Cost Assignment information before creating the Hire Date Correction and add it after.
