3602926 - 1H 2025 - CX - The error requires filling in the non-mandatory start date in the background elements - Recruiting Management

• While applying in the new Reimagined Candidate Experience, an error message is displayed stating "Start Date field is required".
• When changing the My Profile section, the start date field can be saved without filling. It is set as non-required in the background element "Education".

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Log in to the career site as a candidate.
2. Fill the candidate profile and leave the start date as blank in the background elements " Education".
3. Save the candidate profile successfully. 
4. Go to apply a job requisition.
5. Fill all steps and submit the application.
6. The error "Start Date field is required" pops up.

It is a known issue.

The issue currently being investigated by SAP Software Engineering team.

As workaround to complete any release testing, you can fill the start date. Then the apply will be successful.
