Symptom
With release 1H2025, there is a tab under Settings> Site Configuration to populate the site URL in career site builder.
The tab was created to cater for the Standard URL feature whereby customers can select a standard URL for their site with a generic domain name that SAP manages.
This in turns removes the cost and effort of maintaining SSL certificates.
This KBA outlines some important points and recommendations in both Preview and Production environments as the feature is available in both.

Resolution
Production environment
- The Standard URL feature was implemented to help customers with the SSL management of their productive CSB career site.
- The tab offers 2 sections : a Custom Site URL (where the SSL is managed by the customer via the SSL tool in CSB as before) and a Standard URL with a generic domain where the SSL is maintained by SAP.
- Existing customers can opt to move from a custom URL to a standard URL. New implementations can directly opt for a standard URL. There is no requirement to have an SSL installed to begin with.
- When moving from a custom to a standard URL it is not mandatory to keep the custom URL active. We simply offer the option of having the 2 URLs active for a time to facilitate a transition from 1 URL to the other.
- Once the standard URL is updated under the Site URL tab and set to Primary, the system redirects visitors from the custom URL to the standard URL for up to 6 months. The actual duration of this redirect depends on the SSL validity for the custom domain. As soon as the SSL expires the redirect will no longer work. If the SSL is valid for longer than 6 months, the SAP managed redirect will still stop at the 6 months mark as the secondary URL is removed. Customers wishing to keep a redirect in place after this time will have to cater for this requirement themselves.
- Upon saving the standard URL configuration, the system will automatically update the portal and search URLs in provisioning as well as the standard tokens in the job alerts templates but any manually added links cannot be updated automatically. The same goes for third party integrations referring to the RMK URL.
- When transitioning from a custom site URL to a standard site URL, customers leveraging Internal Career Site powered by CSB must update the SAML 2.0 configuration so that internal candidates can access the site at the new URL.
Preview environment
- In preview, SSLs are already managed by SAP so there is little benefit in using the standard URL other than for making oneself familiar with the URL format and associated changes and for testing purposes ahead of making the change in Production.
- Even though the same Custom URL field is present in preview, customers must keep in mind that there is no real custom URL in preview. The guidelines mentioned in KBA 2529980 - How to configure the site URL of Test or Sales Demo instance - Recruiting Marketing - SAP for Me must be followed for the URL to work.
- Upon saving the standard URL configuration, the system will automatically update the portal and search URLs in provisioning. Any third party integrations referring to the RMK URL will need to be updated manually by the customer.
- When transitioning from a custom site URL to a standard site URL, customers leveraging Internal Career Site powered by CSB must update the SAML 2.0 configuration so that internal candidates can access the site at the new URL.
