3603227 - Interview Meeting Subject Displays as "Microsoft Teams Meeting" for Candidates in MS Teams - Recruiting Management

Symptom

When candidates open the interview URL via Microsoft Teams, the meeting subject is displayed as a generic "Microsoft Teams Meeting" instead of the specific subject configured in the email template.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Recruiting.
  2. Select "Interview Scheduling."
  3. Choose the candidate you wish to schedule and click "Start Scheduling."
  4. Continue with the scheduling process:
    • Flag "Teams" as the interview method.
    • Find an available time slot.
    • Click "Continue."
  5. Select "Book this slot for candidate" and then click on "Skip Email" to proceed.
  6. The candidate will receive the email containing the interview URL.
  7. When the candidate opens the URL, Microsoft Teams displays a "Microsoft Teams Meeting" subject.

Cause

This is a Microsoft Teams limitation.

Resolution

To ensure the specific meeting subject appears correctly, candidates must be signed into their Teams account.

If a candidate uses an email that's not associated with Microsoft (e.g. Gmail) or is not signed into their Microsoft account when joining the meeting, Teams defaults to displaying a generic subject. This behavior is inherent to MS Teams and cannot be configured or altered from the SuccessFactors side.
