Symptom

This KBA describes how to replace the damaged product &1 with a different new product &2 in the replacement process of sales returns.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Sell Product HD-&1.
  2. The product gets damaged after the sales.
  3. Attempt to replace the damaged product with Product &2.

Cause

Resolution

  1. Select the returns order in the "Manage Customer Returns - Version 2" app, and then click the "Determine Refund" button.
  2. In the "Determine Refund" page, under the "Items to be refunded" tab, if the returns order hasn't yet been refunded, there will be the option to input a different material. Do not change the material until the replacement order has been generated. This will lead to inconsistency.
