3603945 - LDAP SSL Connection to Host Failed in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform

Symptom

  • In SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform, issues are encountered while configuring the LDAP SSL.
  • The LDAP server does not respond back as expected, resulting in missing "Server Hello" in the Wireshark trace [1969914 - Packet scanning tutorial using wireshark - SAP for Me].
  • Possible errors in the CMS may look like:
    • LDAP: failed to verify any host in list <host:port>
      Failure while binding to LDAP server. 
      LDAP: Can not connect to host <host:port>6.  Server may be down or may not exist.^
      secLdap Error: invalid parameters in LdapVerifyParameters() 
      LDAP: LdapVerifyParameters: caught exception verifying hosts and credentials. 
      LDAP: verifying parameters failed. Exception caught. 
      LDAP: SecLdap Error: invalid parameters in LdapVerifyParameters()
