3604350 - Hire Date Correction Not Reflected in Posting Dates

Symptom

The user’s hire date was originally set incorrectly. It was corrected from December 31, 2022, to October 6, 2023, using the Hire Date Correction. However, the accruals are still present in the Time Account, but they are associated with a future date.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Incorrectly hired an employee.
  2. Rectify the hire date using the Hire Date Correction Tool
  3. The accruals are present in the Time Account but with future date.

Cause

This occurs because the associated Time Account Type is set to "Classic" under the Accrual Recalculation Posting Method. With the "Classic" setting, posting dates are not updated when the hire date is corrected. This behavior is expected.

Switching to "No Recalculation Posting" is recommended, as it prevents this issue from occurring in the future and offers additional benefits over the "Classic" method, as outlined in the handbook Time Account Type | SAP Help Portal

Resolution

  1. Change the Accrual Recalculation Posting Method to "No Recalculation Posting" for the affected Time Account Types (TATs).
  2. Then, run the related accrual calendar with the Recalculation flag enabled.
