3604391 - 'Main' Address Checkbox Grayed Out in Accounts View

Symptom

Although the user has full access to accounts, the 'Main' checkbox is greyed out, preventing changes to the main address.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Accounts work center.
  2. Open the Accounts view.
  3. Select the desired account.
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. Go to the Communication tab.
  6. Under the Addresses sub-tab, observe that the Main checkbox is greyed out and cannot be modified.

Cause

This can occurs because the work center BPM_ACCOUNTS  is assigned in two different roles for the user—one granting unrestricted Read and Write access, and the other granting unrestricted Read access only, with no Write permissions.

This configuration is generally not recommended, as the BPM_ACCOUNTS work center should ideally be assigned to only one of the roles. Assigning the same work center across multiple roles with different access levels can lead to inconsistencies and potentially cause issues with the functionality of the work center.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, ensure that the BPM_ACCOUNTS work center is assigned consistently across all roles granted to the user. Ideally, assign the work center through only one role to avoid conflicts.

Alternatively, if it is necessary to include the work center in multiple roles, make sure that the access restrictions (Read/Write permissions) are identical in each role. Consistent access settings across roles help prevent permission conflicts and ensure the work center functions as expected.
