Symptom
1H 2025 release enhancement on Time Off ESS UI Improvement with Use of Absence Counting Rules (TIM-42988) is not working.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off
Resolution
For the message to be shown, make sure the below pre-requisites are followed:
- The time recording variant in Job Information of employee is set to 'Duration'
- The 'Duration Display According To' field for the Time Type is set to 'Deduction Quantity'.;
- The Time Type permits fractions for days and hours, allowing users to request absences using either a dropdown or an input field i.e:
- "Permitted Fractions For Unit Day" is set to "Half day bookings allowed" or "Quarter day bookings allowed" OR
- "Permitted Fractions For Unit Hour" is set to "Full Hour Bookings Allowed" or "Allow requesting in Hours and minutes"
- The "absence counting method" or absence counting configuration along with the absence counting rule, is configured in the Time Type to modify the deduction quantity.
If above configuration are correct and if the message is still not appearing, please check if the configuration is as below:
- If 'Absence Counting Method' is configured in the Time Type &
- "Permitted Fractions For Unit Day" is set to "Half day bookings allowed" or "Quarter day bookings allowed" OR
- "Permitted Fractions For Unit Hour" is set to "Full Hour Bookings Allowed"
- Absence counting method has one of the days set as 'No' (For Example, Monday is set to 'No')
- Then on applying absence for a date which is on a Monday (say), the "requesting" field is not editable. It directly shows deduction quantity of 0 and no message as per the enhancement is shown.
- Expected Behaviour: The message should be shown as per the enhancement
- If Absence Counting Configuration is configured in the Time Type &
- Absence Counting Rule has SET statement to set the deduction quantity to 0.
- Then on applying absence and if the absence counting rule is satisfied, the "requesting" field does not show the message as per the enhancement.
- The issue does not happen if the Absence Counting Rule has SET statement to set the deduction quantity to non zero value (Eg: 0.5, 1 etc.).
- Expected Behaviour: The message should be shown as per the enhancement even when the Absence Counting Rule has SET statement to set the deduction quantity to 0.
- The above scenarios are defects and engineering team is working on the fix.
- This KBA will be updated when the fix date is confirmed.
