Symptom

  • While Install/upgrade below Error message appears :

            Failed to update setup engine executables. Program will exit.

  • In setupengine.log file, the following entries are found

07:27:10.616 Updating setup engine - 
07:27:10.616   Set up temp directory...
07:27:10.616   Copying updated bootstrap files...
07:27:10.616 Error:     Failed to copy: D:\Server\BO 4.3\BIPLATS4304P_1100-70002684_P1\setup.exe to: D:\
07:27:10.616 Error: Class name:   class Poco::FileException
07:27:10.616 Error: Display text: File access error: \\?\D:

  • No errors appears in process monitor traces.
  • No antivirus is running on the system.
