3604967 - Joule updates the information directly without prompting for the value to be updated

Symptom

  • Joule updates the information directly without prompting for the value to be updated.
  • Occasionally, Joule assigns random information as the new value, and at other times, it uses the command itself as the new value.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Joule.
  2. Request a change by asking for "Change Job Relationship" or "Change Legal Name".
  3. Joule responds with "What would you like to update?". However, when you type the command, such as "Name", Joule simply replies, "Got it. I've updated the information for you.", and displays randomly updated information. Ideally, Joule should ask something like, "Could you please provide the new middle name you would like to update?".
  4. As a result, Joule randomly assigns a name to job relationships or updates the name without asking for the new name. For example, Joule treats the "Middle Name" command as a value and updates it in the middle name field, resulting in something like "John New Middle Name Goh".

Cause

This is a defect.
