3605151 - Failed to import remote tables from the Oracle database connection with Shift_JIS character set in SAP Datasphere

Symptom

  • Unable to import remote tables from the connection to Oracle database which character set is Shift_JIS, and receive the following error.
    • HTTP Status: 500 error
      Error Code: getChildrenFailed
      Technical Message: internal error: Cannot get remote source objects: Could not get tables, Code: 403, SQL State: HY000
  • The framework.trc in the DP agent contains the following error.
    •  [ERROR] OracleLogReaderAdapter | ExceptionUtil.newAdapterException [] - Failed to fetch tables under schema <schema_name> from ResultSet. java.sql.SQLException: Non supported character set (add orai18n.jar in your classpath): JA16SJISTILDE at oracle.sql.CharacterSetUnknown.failCharsetUnknown(CharacterSetFactoryThin.java:233)
