Symptom
In SAP Business ByDesign, when the data element "GoodsTag – Production Date" is added to the Unspecified Content Label form template, the text and corresponding data are misaligned.
The date appears at the bottom of the label rather than aligning correctly with the associated text.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Application and User Management work center.
- Select Form Template Maintenance view.
- Choose the Unspecified Content Label form template.
- Click Open → Easy Form Editor.
- Under Label Data, add the data element "GoodsTag – Production Date".
- Click Refresh to display the added element.
- The text and the data are misaligned — the production date is displayed at the bottom of the label instead of aligning with the associated text.
Cause
The misalignment between the text and the displayed date was due to the layout size of the field "txtProductionDate_xxxxxxx" in Adobe LiveCycle Designer being set to 45mm (1.7717in).
Resolution
To resolve the misalignment of the production date on the Unspecified Content Label form template, follow these steps:
- Download the XDP file for the Unspecified Content Label template from Form Template Maintenance.
- Open the downloaded file in Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
- Locate the field "txtProductionDate_xxxxxxx" and in the Layout tab, change the Field Reserve value from 45mm (1.7717in) to 4mm (0.1575in).
- Save the updated XDP file.
- Return to Form Template Maintenance and re-upload the modified XDP file.
- Refresh the application to ensure the changes are applied.
- After completing these steps, the production date will be properly aligned with the label text.
