3607421 - Tomcat does not start in UNIX environment

Symptom

  • Tomcat instantly shutdown after running ./tomcatstartup.sh
  • Errors in the catalina.out

    Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
               (to execute a class)
       or  java [-options] -jar jarfile [args...]
               (to execute a jar file)
    -javaagent:<jarpath>[=<options>]
                        load Java programming language agent, see java.lang.instrument

    <Installdir>/sap_bobj//tomcat/bin/catalina.sh: line 505: ty.debug=true: command not found
    <Installdir>/sap_bobj//tomcat/bin/catalina.sh: line 506: ava.net.preferIPv4Stack=false: command not found
