Symptom

During system upgrade using Software update manager (SUM) in phase "PREP_INPUT_CHECK/SELSTACKXML_ASK", the following error is reported:

Error reading stack info, return Code = -99, Reason =
'Internal error: The path /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/tmp/<XXX>.xml is not within $$DIR_TRANS'
