3608026 - Not possible to enter a value in hierarchy node variable "A server error has occurred, and the values cannot be processed. Please try again later."

Symptom

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Story or Data Analyzer Insight based on a BW or S/4 HANA Live connection is giving an error when entering a value into a variable prompt:

       "A server error has occurred, and the values cannot be processed. Please try again later." 

  • The variable is based on a Hierarchy Node and it is not possible to search in the hierarchy when all nodes are collapsed or before opening the value help by just typing the hierarchy node ID.
  • The below error appears in the network traces, in the "GetResponse()" call: "Cannot execute search" "hierarchy is too large"
