Symptom

  • After the 2505.0.2 hotfix of SAP CPQ, an "internal server error" is encountered when attempting to send e-mail documents.
  • The issue is accompanied by a fatal error in the developer console: "System.ArgumentException: The specified string is not in the form required for a subject..."
  • The error is circumvented by manually changing the e-mail subject.

Environment

SAP CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Generate Documents in a Quote
  2. Display the printout template by clicking "Generate"
  3. Add an E-Mail recipient in the "To:"-field
  4. Click on "Send Mail"
  5. The error code "Internal server error" is displayed.

Cause

This issue was verified in 2505.0.2 hotfix and arises when the system attempts to process a string that does convert to required format for e-mail subject.

Resolution

This will be fixed in 2505.0.3 code version. Workaround is to manually remove and retype email subject. Copy/Paste will not work for workaround.
