3608382 - Migration tool not updating data in the expected language

After successfully migrating language specific data using the Migration Tool, the expected data has not updated/the fields are empty.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Open the Overview view.
3. Search for the relevant "Migration of" activity i.e. "Migration of Discount Lists".
4. Open it with Change Immediately or View.
5. Migrate using the migration tool.
6. Upload the migration file.
7. Execute the migration.
8. Migration completes successfully.
9. Open the data which was created via the migration in the relevant language.
10. Values are not updated or empty.

In step 2 of the Migration ('Convert Values' / 'Edit Value Conversion for Language') an incorrect mapping has been accepted. Language X should map to Language X, whereas Language X to Language Y is maintained. As a result Language Y is being updated. (where X and Y represent different languages).

To correct the language mapping, follow the below steps (Step 2 of 'Migration - Convert Values').

1. Click into Edit Value Conversion for Language.
   Here you can view the maintained language mapping.
2. Find the relevant Source Language.
   The mismatch with the Target Language should be visible.
3. Maintain the matching Language as the Target Language.
4. Save and Close.
5. Complete the Migration.
6. Check the data again and it will now be updated as expected.
