3608795 - [Overview] Customer Returns and Warehouse Management Integration in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

The integration between customer returns and warehouse management becomes available since CE2508, S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

This applies to single products and sales kits, including all four sales kit variants from scope item 5CX: ERLA, LUMF, CPFH, and DISH.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition CE2508 and upper versions

Resolution

Prerequisite

  1. Ensure that Best Practice content for warehouse management is active, including at least scope items 3BR, 3BS, and 3BU. Additionally, activate customer returns scope items BKP and 5CX. Update all Best Practice content to CE2508 at a minimum.
  2. Check Configuration Activity - Define Item Category Determination in Deliveries (Optional)
    Delivery item categories for commonly used delivery type and item category group combinations are preconfigured. It's also opened to end users to configure corresponding delivery item categories for other delivery types and item category groups according to the business requirements concerned. Refer to KBA 3594897 for more configuration information.

General supported scenarios via logistical follow-up activities

  1. For Planned Returns (via Logistical follow up activity 0001 – receive into plant first, and followed by an inspection for final logistical follow up decision), the supported follow-up activities include:
    • Logistical follow up activity 0011 - Transfer to free available stock
    • Logistical follow up activity 0012 - Transfer to scrap
    • Logistical follow up activity 0015 - Transfer to Specified Stock
    • Logistical follow up activity 0031 - No further activity
    • Logistical follow up activity 0005 - Ship to Supplier
  2. For Unplanned Returns (Decide the final logistical follow up decision in returns order directly), the supported follow-up activities include:
    • Logistical follow up activity 0002 - Immediately Move to Free Available Stock
    • Logistical follow up activity 0003 - Immediately Move to Scrap
    • Logistical follow up activity 0014 - Immediately Move to Specific stock
    • Logistical follow up activity 0021 - Send Back to Customer

  3. Not Supported Follow-Up Activities:
    • Not supported today
      • Logistical follow up activity 0004 - Ship to Other Plant
      • Logistical follow up activity 0023 - Goods Receipt Quantity Correction
      • Logistical follow up activity 0026 - In-House Repair (Service)
      • Logistical follow up activity 0027 - Continue In-House Repair (Service)
    • No relevance with warehouse management
      • Logistical follow up activity 0007 - directly ship from customer to supplier
      • Logistical follow up activity 0008 - Inspection at customer site
      • Logistical follow up activity 0013 - Material remains at customer site

**NOTE**

Use a user with the Business Role SAP_BR_RETURNS_REFUND_CLERK to create returns orders. Do not use the Business Role SAP_BR_INTERNAL_SALES_REP.
