Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off
Cause
This is related to the 1H 2025 enhancement TIM-46150: Movement of Permissions from Employee Views Category to Time Management User Permissions Category
Why are the permissions not migrated for certain permission roles after 1H 2025 release?
- As per the enhancement, if there are existing permission roles enabled with Employee Views > Time Off and/or Time Sheet, then it will be automatically migrated to 'Time Management User Permissions' > Access Time Off and/or Access Time Sheet.
- Therefore, it could be that the permission role did not have Employee views > Time Off/Time Sheet enabled. You can confirm the same via Manage Permission Role > Click on 'View history' option beside the particular permission role.
Why the time off permissions is not migrated even though Employee View > Time Off permission is enabled prior to 1H 2025 release?
- In Manage Permission Role > Employee View, check if there are 2 permissions for time off. One is for the 'Time off' section in employee's profile. and another one is for 'Go to time off' link or Time off Quick action link. (Refer sample screenshot where both the permissions are with same name)
- As per the above screenshot, only the section permission was enabled prior to 1H 2025 release. (There was a defect that with just this section permission, employees could access time off ESS UI link prior to 1H 2025.) Since only 'Time off' section permission was enabled prior to 1H 2025 release, there was no automatic enablement of 'Access Time off' permission under 'Time Management User Permission'.
Resolution
Navigate to Manage Permission role -> Edit the particular permission role > Time Management User Permission > enable the 'Access Time off' (and/or Access Time Sheet)permission.
