Symptom
An employee who is having positions below him is not getting added to the manager permission role. One or more positions can be seen below the user in position org chart.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Position Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to instance.
- Navigate to Position Org Chart.
- Open the position of employee facing the issue.
- Confirm if there are lower level positions available for this user.
- Check whether the user has been added to the manager permission role.
Cause
User is not having any direct reports. If the positions below the user are vacant positions then the user would not be considered a manager.
Resolution
Please ensure that the user is having at least one direct report i.e. user added as the manager for at least one user in job information. Only then he/she would be considered a manager and would be added to the manager permission role.
