Symptom

The requirement is to know the step by step of how to add a custom field to Employee Profile Header.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Resolution

System allows up to three custom fields in Employee Profile Header.

Please refer to the step by step below:

Creating the custom field:

  • Navigate to Manage Business Configuration > Employee Profile;
  • Under Standard or User Info > add a custom field as your requirement > Set Enabled to Yes > Save.

Assigning the custom field to a template:

  • Navigate to View Template > Choose any template > Take Action;
  • Under Details, add the Standard or User Info field > Save.

Adding the custom field to People Profile Header (screenshot attached):

  • Navigate to Configure People Profile > General Settings;
  • Click on Configure Header Fields > Tick the box of one of the three custom fields > Select the field you just created > Save.

Enabling Permission to View / Edit field in UI:

  • Navigate to Manage Permission Roles > Select the role;
  • Under Employee Data > Enable View and/or Edit permissions for the custom field you just created.
