3609112 - Buy X Get X" Promotion with Variant Product as Selectable Free Gift

Symptom

A requirement exists to configure a "Buy X Get X Free" promotion where the free gift is a variant product, and the user should be able to choose the desired variant as the free gift during the purchase process.

While the promotion engine allows selection of a specific variant product as a gift. The expected behavior is to display a list of variant options on the storefront and allow the customer to interactively select one of these variants to add as the promotional gift.
