Symptom
While in the Administrator side, the Assignment Date of the curriculum (under the Curricula tab within a user's record) is showing one day ahead when compared with the Assigned Items tab for any item from the same curriculum assignment.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Login as a Learning Administrator >
- Assign a curriculum to a user via curriculum record > Options > Assign
- Observe the user's record > Assigned Items and Curricula tabs >
- The Assigned Items displays the item as being assigned a day earlier >
- This inconsistency is also displayed in the user side if their time zone is one behind UTC (for instance, EST/UTC-4).
Cause
This is expected system behavior.
Resolution
From b2505, the following behavior will be expected in regards to Curriculum Assignment Date (Curriculum Tab in admin side) and Curriculum Item Assignment Date (Assigned Items tab in admin side).
This behavior does not apply to items that are included in the curriculum after the curriculum assignment is already done. This should be considered the date of the item addition in the curriculum items list.
- Assignment date is stored UTC 0 in the DB and in reports.
- Admin view of user Curricula tab assignment date is UTC 0 (meaning no admin time zone preference conversion).
- Admin view of user Assigned Items tab is in admin's preferred time zone.
Last but not least, in the user side though, any assignment date appears in user's preferred time zone.
