3609993 - Approval comments for the second level approver are not being stored in the approval history

Symptom

  • In a multi-level approval flow, the approval comments for the first level are stored correctly in the approval history.
  • However, the approval comments for the second level are not stored in the approval history.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login as a level 1 approver.
  2. Open a quote which is already submitted for level 1 approval.
  3. Request for approval and go to the approvals page.
  4. Enter a comment in the comment section "Please approve". Submit for approval to level 2 approver.
  5. Click on Approval history action in the quote. The comment will not be stored.

Cause

The issue is caused by a temporary parameter that was introduced in the 2502 release in all of the Quote 2.0 tenants in SAP CPQ.

Resolution

Disabling the temp parameter should resolve the issue with the comments to higher level approvers.
