Symptom
Although the Fields "Work Package Package" and "Start Time / End Time" are set as Mandatory in the Time Sheet view, the users are being able to save data without those fields populated.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign.
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Time Administration Work Center > Time Sheet view.
- Add a time entry.
- Configure the fields Work Package Task and Start/End Times as mandatory.
- Attempt to save and release a time entry without filling in the mandatory fields.
- Observe that the entry is successfully saved and released despite the mandatory fields being blank.
Cause
The fields "Work Package Task" and "Start time/End time" are mapped with the table level (i.e Task, Start time, End time) and are not set as mandatory at the table level, so it is saving the entry without any error.
Resolution
This implementation ensures data consistency within the Time Sheet process and reflects the expected system behavior.
