3610410 - S3 File Location trying to create new bucket on upload with "Forbidden" - Data Services

Symptom

  • Writing a file to S3 bucket using S3 File Location 
  • HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
  • Error creating bucket
  • Error:  Forbidden: User: < user > is not authorized to perform: s3:CreateBucket on resource: "<resource name>" because no identity-based policy allows the s3:CreateBucket action.
  • IAM policy for the bucket does not allow S3:CreateBucket
  • Able to connect to AWS with cli
