3610689 - How Pricing Procedure is Determined for Solution Orders in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • An issue was encountered with the pricing procedure determination for two different types of materials (NLAG and SBPD) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  • The pricing procedure was determined incorrectly for sales orders created through solution orders.

Reproducing the Issue

Maintained Sales Document Type: SOLO and expected the Document Pricing Procedure to be Y1. For Sales Document Type OR (Standard):

  1. Open the Implementation Activities app.
  2. Navigate through: Sales, then Sales Order, followed by Sales Order Management and Processing, and then select Configure Sales Document Types.
  3. Choose the Sales Document Type OR.
  4. Under the field Document Pricing Procedure, the value is Y1. 

 

In the Pricing Data section, observe that the Document Pricing Procedure for the Solution Order is set as S6. For Sales Document Type SOLO (Solution Order):

  1. Open the Implementation Activities app.
  2. Navigate through General Business Data, then Price Management, followed by Sales Pricing, and then Settings for Pricing in Sales.
  3. Select Set Pricing Procedure Determination. In the Pricing Data section, the Document Pricing Procedure for the sales document type SOLO is maintained as S6, which is the standard system behavior for solution orders.

Cause

The issue arises because the pricing procedure for the sales order is determined based on the solution order. The Document Pricing Procedure Y1 is only applied when a sales order is created directly, not through a solution order.

Resolution

Changeable sales orders offer flexibility by allowing modifications to sales orders generated from solution orders such as:

  1. Determine freight cost.
  2. Change item categories to enable additional functionalities like down payments or third-party shipping (useful in case of stock shortages).
  3. Modify shipping conditions at the time of delivery.
  4. Update partner details and payment methods.
  5. Adjust ordered quantity and delivery schedule.
  6. Reconfigure product specifications.

When sales items in solution orders are released, standard Sales orders (type OR) are created by default. These changeable sales orders can be adjusted to meet specific business needs. However, changing the pricing procedure is not supported in this scenario.

The pricing procedure from the solution order will be copied to the sales order. So ,the Document Classification used for Solution Order is S6.
