Symptom
- SAP introduces content decoupling during update and upgrade processes in the 3-system landscape for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
- Content decoupling allows you to temporarily opt out of content updates or upgrades, enabling continued acceptance testing without interference from SAP lifecycle processing.
- For the feature to work smoothly, you must import and forward released transports before the second major release upgrade into the test and production systems.
- SAP cannot import transports into the test system or forward them to the production system without your request, which may lead to transport requests becoming too old and violating the "downward compatibility rule" or the (n+1) rule.
- If aged transport requests prevent you from importing updates or upgrades, only SAP can perform the necessary imports and adaptations in your systems.
- The Import Collection app in both the test and production systems will display information about old transport requests that may cause issues.
