3610933 - RE-FX: Gaps in FI document numbers in case of errors during posting run transaction RERAPP

Symptom

After the transaction RERAPP for periodic posting was executed, a gap in the FI document number assignment for a certain document type was discovered. For the affected number range it seems, that document numbers were consumed without a corresponding document being posted.

This issue in particular was observed, when the affected transaction RERAPP run was showing errors, such as F5 351 Account & & is blocked for posting).

An error during transaction RERAPP run prevents the creation of a posting and should lead to a "rollback" per design without gaps in document numbering.
