3611121 - Bullet Lists and Spacing Behavior in the New Rich Text Editor - Recruiting Management

This KBA covers the expected behavior for bulleted lists in the new Rich Text Editor introduced as part of the 1H 2025 release.

SPACING

There are no extra spaces added between Paragraph and Bulleted list.

If there are inconsistencies in the vertical spacing of the header or paragraph to the bulleted list, check the html of the page to verify if there are styles applied affecting the content generated from the Rich Text Editor. Also, the recommended measure for checking the alignment and spacing would be the preview of the job posting, or the offer letter, or any other recruiting page. 

BULLETED LIST

• Paragraphs (<p>) are treated as separate blocks and can be itemized (i.e., converted to list items). 
  These are items separated by using ENTER.
  These will appear with bullet points per line. 
  
• Line breaks (<br>) are inline, and the RTE won’t treat them as separate list items.
  These are items separated by using Shift + ENTER. 
  These will appear with 1 bullet point for the whole text. 
  

Note: If you copy and paste a body of text that were not separated or itemized using ENTER, even if they are bulleted from your source, the system will still treat them as line breaks and will be grouped under 1 bullet point.

Exhibit 2. The following shows what they would look like with bullet points. The paragraphs are considered itemized lists so they have individual bullet points, whereas the text separated with line breaks (SHIFT + ENTER) is considered as 1 text, hence is grouped under 1 bullet point.
