3612163 - Unable to Partially Match User ID in Action Search using Fuzzy Search function

• "Enable fuzzy search function for People Search" is enabled in Company System and Logo Settings, however, only some persons can be found via partially match when searching with User ID, and others can not be found.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Attempt to search for User ID "75001" by entering "5001" in the Action Search.
2. Notice that User "75001" is shown in the search results.
3. However, when searching for another user "69123" by entering "9123" in the Action Search.
4. Notice that the user is not found in the search result.

• User ID is not a support field in People Search as stated in KBA 2385804 - Supported Fields for People Search in SuccessFactors .
• User can be found by searching User ID because most of the persons have same value for User ID and person_id_external field. The search result is hitting person_id_external field.
• Fuzzy Search only supports for Name Field (Last Name, First Name and so on) and Username Field. But Fuzzy Search does not support for person_id_external field which only supports exact search.
• Those users (for example, User ID "75001") can be found by Fuzzy Seach because their have same values in User ID (Or person_id_external) and Username field. But other users User ID  (Or person_id_external) is different with their Username.
