Symptom
For sales order, line items are missing in follow up documents such as Customer Demand. This inconsistency prevents all items from being propagated to Customer Demand.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
-
Navigate to the Sales Work Center.
-
Search for Sales Order XYZ.
-
Open the document and select View All, then go to Document Flow.
-
Expand all and select the linked Customer Demand XYZ.
-
Go to the Items Tab in the Customer Demand document.
-
Observed Result: Some of the line items are missing.
-
Cause
The issue arises due to an inconsistency in the sales order. In the general tab of the sales order, the "Complete Delivery" indicator is ticked, but at the item level, it is being delivered with multiple delivery rule. This inconsistency is not aligning with the customer demand.
When header and item-level delivery rules conflict, the system excludes inconsistent items from follow up documents (e.g., Customer Demand) to avoid process errors.
Resolution
To resolve the missing line items and ensure alignment with Customer Demand:
-
Cancel the Inconsistent Sales Order:
-
Cancel sales order XYZ to remove the inconsistency.
-
-
Create a New Sales Order:
-
Ensure consistency between header and item-level settings:
-
If "Complete Delivery" is enabled in the header, all line items must use the same delivery rule
-
Disable "Complete Delivery" in the header if split deliveries are required for specific items.
-
-
Save and reprocess the sales order.
-
-
Validate follow up Documents:
-
Regenerate the Customer Demand and confirm that all line items now appear correctly.
