3613169 - Post 1H 2025 release candidates in onboarding are able to see their Line Manager's phone number in the welcome message

Symptom

As per the Jira OBX – 35972, we can see that home phone is visible to candidate, but this should never be defaulted/shared with the Onboardees and it's illegal to share home phone numbers without User consent.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Resolution

As per the enhancement OBX-35972,

The manager's phone number is now selected from Employee Central based on the following priority order:
Business Phone (code "B")
Cell Phone (code "C")
Home Phone (code "H")
Fax (code "F")

Earlier, the customers had no control over the displayed phone number - it would have returned either one of the four options on the welcome card.

  1. Business Phone (code "B")
  2. Cell Phone (code "C")
  3. Home Phone (code "H")
  4. Fax (code "F")

With this enhancement, we have now added a priority order. These phone number values are retrieved from the WorkProfile, not EC directly. So, if a customer has not exposed any of these four phone types in the work profile, it will not be picked.

This can be checked in Admin Center -> Manage Business Configuration -> Employee Profile -> Standard -> cellPhone/businessPhone/homePhone/fax. For this customer, C or H is not picked as they have not enabled these here.

If the customer wishes to ensure the H/C phone type is not returned, they can refrain from enabling it here.
