3613906 - There are several folders which have the same name displayed in user's My Files list in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • There are several folders which have the same name displayed in user's My Files list in SAP Analytics Cloud
  • If click each folder and check the contents inside the folders, find they are different.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.8

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a user named userA, which has minimum access rights. E.g. deny the access of Public folder
  2. Use another user named userB which has Public folder access to log in to SAP Analytics Cloud.
  3. Use userB, create a folder named test_folder in userB's personal folder. Then share it to userA with Read access.
  4. Use userB, go to Public folder and create a folder also named test_folder, then share this folder to userA with Read access.
  5. Now, use userA to log in to SAP Analytics Cloud.
  6. Go to My Files, find that there are two folders have the same name test_folder listed.

Cause

This is a by design behavior.

Resolution

  • The shared folders are not saved in the shared user's personal folder. They will be listed as references in the shared user's My File Listed.
  • In case of there is requirement to make the shared folder different, the folder owner or the user who has edit access to the shared folder can edit the folder and set with different Description.
