Symptom
Although since 2005 release, there is a new access right BPM_SUPP_EDIT_BANK proposed, when select access rights BPM_SUPPLIERS , there is still a SoD conflict "Master data maintenance including financial data bears the risk of committing fraud."
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Application and User Management - Business Users.
- Select any Business User.
- Click Edit -> Access Rights.
- Go to Work Center and View Assignment Tab.
- Assign access right BPM_SUPPLIERS.
- In the SoD Conflicts, there is a warning "Suppliers | Master data maintenance including financial data bears the risk of committing fraud".
Cause
This is a designed system behavior.
Resolution
After 2005 release, there is an option (BPM_SUPP_EDIT_BANK) to restrict if the user can edit the Supplier Bank Details. This option can be selected in implementation project by selecting the question "Do you want to restrict which user can edit the bank details of suppliers?"
However, access right BPM_SUPP_EDIT_BANK only restrict the edition of bank data, but financial data involves tax and payment data besides bank data which is still involved in BPM_SUPPLIERS. Therefore, the SoD conflict still exists in BPM_SUPPLIERS.
