3614922 - The Option to Send New E-mails to the Accounts is Not Scoped in the System

Symptom

You would like to send e-mails to the accounts maintained in the system through the E-mail activity, however the E-mail activity is currently not "In Scope" in the system. 

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Account Management Work Center.
  2. Go to the Activities View.
  3. Select New Button. 

The option to send a new E-mails is not displayed.

Cause

The scoping question "Do you use e-mail to communicate with your accounts?" is currently Not In Scope in the system.

Resolution

In order to send E-mails to the Accounts maintained in the system through the Activities View, the scoping question "Do you use e-mail to communicate with your accounts? needs to be "In Scope" in the system.

This process can be performed through the following steps:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration Work Center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects View.
  3. Select Edit Project Scope.
  4. Navigate to the Step 4 - Questions.
  5. Expand Sales.
  6. Expand Account and Activity Management.
  7. Select the Activity Management.
  8. Mark the check box for the scoping question "Do you use e-mail to communicate with your accounts?"
  9. Select Next.
  10. Select Accept Preselected Answers.
  11. Select Finish.

The option to send a new E-mail will be displayed in the Activities View through the New Button.

As a possible additional feature the Microsoft Outlook® Integration can be scoped in order to integrate with the E-mail Activity.

For the scoping of the Microsoft Outlook® Integration, the following steps can be performed:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration Work Center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects.
  3. Select Edit Project Scope.
  4. Navigate to the Step 3 - Scoping Elements.
  5. Expand Communication and Information Exchange.
  6. Expand Office and Desktop Integration.
  7. Mark the check box for Microsoft Outlook® Integration.
  8. Select Next.
  9. In the Step 4 - Questions, Select Next.
  10. Select Accept Preselected Answers.
  11. Select Finish.

The Microsoft Outlook® Integration will be scoped in the system.

The Microsoft Outlook® Integration configuration is recommended to be first set up and tested in the Test System before activating this functionality in the Production system.
