3614961 - A Second Hire Record Was Created in Job Information on Position Change - Employee Central

When saving a change in the position configuration, a hire record was create in job information. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Go to Manage Data > Position
2. Make any change to Position > Save
3. Go to Job Information Record
4. There is a new record for the change but the event reason has a hire event

There is a rule triggering to SET event reason with a hire event when the position is changed. The event reason/event does not go through validation in the position2job sync as per system design.  

• Correcting the behavior: disable the rule or change its configuration to avoid new wrong hire records from being created:
  1. Reproduce the behavior;
  2. Collect a rule trace (2257064 - Employee Central - Business Rule Execution Log)
  3. See which rule is setting a hire event;
• Fixing the affected users:
  • It is not possible to delete the hire record created during this process via UI as validation will not allow it;
  • To fix the record, it is necessary to import job information on full purge (2317955 - How to Correct or Remove Job Information Via Import in Full Purge Mode).

Note: changes that includes hierarchy adaptation will trigger business rules and will also not be included in the validation (3566087 - The Position to Job Information Sync triggers the Business Rule regardless of the Rule Context set).
