Symptom

Space deployment fails with error:


  • The space settings couldn’t be updated.We can provide the following information to assist either you or an SAP engineer to solve the issue:

    Error Code: spaceApiValidation
    Technical Message: /<SPACE_NAME>/spaceDefinition/workloadClass/totalStatementMemoryLimit/unit must be string {"type":"string"} /<SPACE_NAME>/spaceDefinition/workloadClass/totalStatementMemoryLimit/unit must be equal to one of the allowed values {"allowedValues":["Gigabyte","Percent","Counter"]}

Note : Error deploying other objects in the same space might also occur.

Environment

  • SAP Datasphere

Cause

Invalid or missing Total Statement Memory Limit setting in Workload Management.

Resolution

  1. Go to Configuration → Workload Management.
  2. Set Total Statement Memory Limit to a valid value (e.g., 80%).
  3. Ensure the unit is Gigabyte, Percent, or Counter.
  4. Save and redeploy.
