Symptom

App Manage incoming payment files error: "file contains element that is not defined in the format."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to manage incoming payment file app.
  2. Click to import/bank statement, upload the file and select the format camt.053.001.02 (format mapping).
  3. An error appears: file contains element that is not defined in the format.
  4. Go to manage your solution, configuration point ID 170010.
  5. Enter to camt.053.001.02 (format mapping), the element appears in several places.

Cause

Standard mapping does not have all the entries that correspond to the standard CGI format because they are not widely used.

Resolution

Check the <Nm> tag missing under this tree <RltdAgts >-<DbtrAgt >-<FinInstnId>-<BIC>-<Nm>-<PstlAdr >.

Create an own mapping by copying the standard delivered format and add this tag at the mentioned location in hierarchy and the file will pass through.
