Symptom

SAP Java system can not be started due to database connection issue.

  • jdbcCon.log 

    Start: Tue May 20 11:12:13 GMT 2025

    Error: Couldn't connect to DB
    com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Exception of type com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlException caught: 
    [jcc][10257][10960][4.33.32] Unable to open file /usr/sap/<SID>/<Irrelevant instance name>/_sds_<number>.
    ERRORCODE=-4223, SQLSTATE=null.
