Symptom
When Reimagined Candidate Experience is enabled for the career site, if the field Current Employer is set to Yes on the background-element Previous Employment, the End Date field remains editable (and marked as required if it is required).
Note that the candidate can save the entry without entering a date but this is not intuitive if the field is marked as required.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Refer to the KBA for standard configuration and behavior:
2782454 – End Date validation for the Candidate Profile background element fields – Recruiting Management. - When the New Candidate Experience is disabled:
- The candidate can select Current Employer = Yes in the Previous Employment background element.
- This selection will disable the End Date field, making it uneditable.
- When the New Candidate Experience is enabled:
- The End Date field remains editable even if the candidate selects Current Employer = Yes.
- The field will be required only if it is configured as required.
- The candidate can still save the entry even if the End Date field is left empty.
Cause
This scenario has already been reviewed and acknowledged by the Engineering team.
Resolution
Product Management has confirmed that this behavior is currently working as designed, and no changes are planned at this time.
