Symptom
When a manager clicks on the welcome message on their dashboard, it doesn't take them anywhere and showcases a blank page.
Environment
SAP SF ONBOARDING
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to the instance.
- Proxy as the concerned manager.
- Click on the "Write Welcome Message".
- Observe that it navigates to a blank page instead of the expected view.
Cause
The candidate, X has a start date of March 24, 2025, which means he is already an employee. The permission role has a target population of Granted Users’ Direct Reports (External Onboarding User). Once the candidate becomes an employee, they no longer fall under this target population. As a result, even though the permissions are in place, the manager is unable to access or complete the "Write Welcome Message" task. The same applies to other caniddate Y, whose start date is April 7, 2025 — he is now an employee, leading to the blank page when the manager attempts to access the task.
Resolution
- Ensure that the "Write Welcome Message" task is completed before the onboardee’s start date.
- Once the start date has passed, and the candidate transitions to employee status, managers will no longer be able to complete the task due to target population restrictions.
