Symptom
- It is not possible to take the exam again in a course after passing it.
- When user passes an exam, the 'Completion Status' pop-up is displayed, preventing the re-take of the exam.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Login and go to My Learning
- Launch a course that includes an exam.
- After completing all contents and passing the exam, click 'Try again' in the exam result page.
- 'Completion Status' pop-up is displayed, preventing the re-take of the exam even though the 'Exam Attempts Limit' is set to 0 or more than 1.
Cause
It is possible to take exams multiple times when 'Exam Attempts Limit' is set to 0 or more than 1 on the exam level. However, if the exam is the last content of the course, the course would be completed as soon as the user passes the exam and removed from user's learning plan. Therefore, it is not possible to take the exam again.
Resolution
The original purpose of the exam is to test how much users have understood the course content. The course should be completed and closed once the users have passed the exam.
If there is a business need for users retaking the exam multiple times even after passing it, as for workaround, admins can adjust the order of the exam so that it is not the final part of the course. This will prevent the course from being marked as completed before the exam can be retaken.
Follow steps below to adjust the exam position:
- In Learning Administration > Navigate to the target item >
- 'Online content' tab > Click the three dots on exam > Click 'Move' >
- Click any online content > Click 'Insert before' > Save it
