Document numbering is not in sequence for Projects.

Project Management

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Navigate to the Projects view.
3. Choose to view All Projects.
4. You can see that the project numbering is not in sequence.

• Strict implementation of incremental sequence in Project Document Ids is not available in ByDesign.
• The numbering rules for Projects are different from accounting documents.
• Numbering rules and the need to explain gaps in number ranges currently only hold for accounting documents, but not for documents such as for example, Projects.
• There is no legal or accounting principle based requirement concerning the internal number of these documents.
• Since forcing a strict numbering has a big impact on the system performance, we have not implemented a numbering rules for sales documents unless there is a strict legal requirement.

Therefore, the number range of documents such as Service Orders will not be sequential.

This is the current behavior provided by SAP Business ByDesign.
