3619567 - How to Activate and Display a Custom Field in “Manage Sales Orders – Version 2” in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Created a custom field via the Custom Fields app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, but it is not visible in the Manage Sales Orders – Version 2 Fiori app.

Although the custom field has been published and assigned to the correct business context, it must also be enabled for UI usage and inserted using Adapt UI.

Step 1: Check Custom Field Enablement

1. Go to Custom Fields app.
2. Search for your field (e.g., YY1_SO).
3. Open the entry for Business Context: Sales: Sales Document.
4. Go to the “User Interfaces” tab.
5. Ensure the following are enabled:
   • C_SALESORDERMANAGE
   • C_SALESORDERMANAGE_SD
   • App ID: F1873 (Manage Sales Orders – Version 2)

If not enabled, click “Enable Usage” and Publish the field again.

Step 2: Insert the Field via Adapt UI

1. Open the Manage Sales Orders – Version 2 app.
2. Open any sales order and go to the General Information tab.
3. Scroll to the section where you want the field to appear (e.g., Pricing and Billing).
4. Click the user icon (top right) → select Adapt UI.
5. In Adapt UI mode:
   • Hover near the field group (e.g., just below Billing Block)
   • Click the pencil icon or right-click → Add Field
6. In the field popup, select your custom field (e.g., YY1_SO)
7. Click OK, then click the Save (disk) icon in the top bar.

Step 3: Save Layout 

1. If it’s your first time editing the layout, you may be asked to name and activate a draft layout.
2. Once activated, the custom field will remain visible for users assigned to that layout/role.

Note

• This process is applicable to header-level custom fields created under the Sales: Sales Document context.
• For item-level fields, the procedure is similar, but fields must be inserted into the Items tab section.
