3619702 - MDF portlet issue in Latest People Profile: Error code 400: default screen not found

Symptom

  • MDF portlet shows the error: "Looks like something went wrong." "Please try again. If the issue persists, contact your system administrator."
  • The error code is 400 and when hovered over, it states "Default Screen Not Found".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Migrate to the Latest People Profile;
  2. Access custom objects;
  3. Observe error code 400 with the message "Default Screen Not Found".

Cause

The error indicates that no valid Configuration UI (ConfigUI) is assigned to the object definition.

In the legacy People Profile, administrators could select the ConfigUI or Screen ID directly. However, this option is no longer available.

Currently, the Configuration UI must be assigned in the Default Screen field within Admin Center → Configure Object Definitions.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, assign a Default Screen to the MDF object definition.

  1. Ensure that a Configuration UI has been created for the MDF object as described in KBA 2211616 - How to Configure a UI for a Generic Object in Meta Data Framework - [MDF] .

  2. Go to Configure Object Definitions.

  3. Select Object Definition and search for the relevant custom MDF object.

  4. Select Take Action > Make Correction.

  5. In the Default Screen field, select the Configuration UI created for this object.

  6. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

After saving the changes, the system will use the assigned Configuration UI as the default screen for the object.
