3619961 - recover data error due to missing root key in SAP HANA Backup & Recovery

Symptom

You are performing system copy with backup and recovery.
During the recovery to target HANA, it is failed with following error:

recovery could not be completed, 
Backup rootkey XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is required for decryption of backup files, but not found in key store. Please make sure you have provided the necessary keys before
recovery., 
No root key matching hash=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

You failed to disable backup encryption with following errors:

  • Could not execute 'ALTER DATABASE <Tenant database_name> BACKUP ENCRYPTION OFF' in XX ms XX µs . 
    SAP DBTech JDBC: [403]: internal error: SYSTEMDB does not have control to modify the encryption state of the tenant database: <Tenant database_name>
  • Could not execute 'ALTER DATABASE <Tenant database_name> BACKUP ENCRYPTION OFF'
    SAP DBTech JDBC: [7]: feature not supported: ALTER database command on SYSTEMDB only
