3620380 - Message "Approval submission failed due to missing approvers" is displayed when submitting Opportunity for approval

Symptom

When submitting an Opportunity for approval, the warning message "Approval submission failed due to missing approvers" occurs, even though there are approvers maintained in Involved Parties tab.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales > Opportunities.
  2. Open the affected Opportunity.
  3. Click on Actions > Submit for Approval.
  4. Message "Approval submission failed due to missing approvers" is shown.

Cause

There could be different reasons for why message "Approval submission failed due to missing approvers" is occurring. When the standard or custom Approvers were correctly configured in the system and also added to the object Involved Parties facet, then it could be that this is happening due to the employees' validity periods.

If the object is being submitted for approval in, for example, June 13th 2025, and the user validity is "Valid to June 12th 2025", then the object won't be able to be submitted as system won't recognize employees set as the approvers.

Resolution

In such scenarios, valid Employees needs to be maintained or their validity needs to be extended.
