3620495 - Not possible to delete a Sales Order

Symptom

When trying to delete a sales document (Sales Order or Sales Quote), system is showing errors:

  • The header can't be deleted due to the status.
  • Deleting data not possible; deletion disabled
  • The item can't be deleted due to the status of the document.
 

 

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales > Sales Orders.
  2. Select the desired one. 
  3. Click on More > delete.
  4. Error messages occurs.

Cause

It is not possible to delete legally binding documents like Sales Orders via UI or backend. 

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.

However, users can do it through an external system or by depersonalizing the document.
